26 UP Districts Hit by Floods, Over 3.53 Lakh People Affected as Rescue Efforts Intensify

The floods have affected nearly 3.53 lakh people, but no human or livestock casualties have been reported so far, reflecting the prompt response of the relief and rescue machinery. Authorities have distributed 72,897 flood relief kits and more than 3.67 lakh lunch packets among affected families.

Along with shifting affected residents to safer locations, the administration is ensuring the availability of food, relief materials and healthcare facilities. So far, 17,544 people have been moved to safer locations, while 4,847 people are currently staying in 1,312 flood shelters established across the state.

The Uttar Pradesh government’s relief campaign is focused on ensuring the timely delivery of food and essential supplies to affected families. So far, 72,897 food packets and 367,551 lunch packets have been distributed. More than 5,000 quintals of fodder have also been supplied for livestock.

Health safety measures have also been stepped up, with more than 5.52 lakh chlorine tablets and over 1.87 lakh ORS packets distributed across the affected areas. More than 45,000 animals have been affected by the floods; however, no livestock deaths have been reported so far. Similarly, there have been no reports of human casualties.

The flood-affected districts are Amroha, Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Badaun, Ballia, Barabanki, Basti, Chandauli, Farrukhabad, Ghazipur, Gonda, Gorakhpur, Hardoi, Kasganj, Kanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Mirzapur, Moradabad, Pilibhit, Prayagraj, Raebareli, Rampur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Shahjahanpur, Unnao and Varanasi.

With thousands of people shifted to safer locations and relief supplies continuing to reach affected families, the state’s relief and rescue machinery remains focused on preventing casualties and ensuring essential support across the 26 flood-hit districts.
